General questions
Do you only press the shutter button once?
NO! Of course, we trigger several times to then create a selection of the best images. The term “digital photo” refers to how many pictures you can choose from at the end. You can add more with the extras.
What do I do if the passport photos are not accepted?
Unfortunately, however, it can always happen that some photos are not accepted for inexplicable reasons. In this case, please contact us within 6 months of the date of issue (validity period of passport photos), bring the error report with you and we will issue new passport photos for you free of charge. There is no money back.
Can I buy vouchers from you?
YES! You can also purchase a gift voucher for all products. If you would like to put together something special, such as a premium print or an exclusive shoot, please come and see us in person.
Can I print a saved photo from WhatsApp?
NO! As soon as you send a photo on WhatsApp, it is unfortunately compressed until it is unusable. However, we would be happy to look at whether a smaller print in the 10x15cm size is possible. Please understand, however, that the end result will not be perfect.
Do you save the pictures?
YES! We generally archive all photos for 12 months. At the express request of the customer, we will delete them after the shoot and their transmission. Only passport photos are deleted after they have been handed over to the customer.
Do you retouch the pictures?
YES! A small retouching is already included in every shoot. If you would like additional editing, this is possible on request. The additional expense of € 8,- per 10 minutes of editing will be charged at the end.
Is there a discount for regular customers?
YES! If you are a frequent guest at Chaluk’s photo studio, you will receive a discount in the form of various extras, such as an additional photo free of charge or other benefits. This depends on how often you have already stood in front of the camera with us. Just let us surprise you.
Are there changing rooms?
YES! Changing rooms and large mirrors are available.
Are there also workshops?
YES! Various dates and packages will be available shortly.
Is it possible to submit self-created photos for editing?
YES! We charge € 8 per 10 minutes of processing.
Is there also the possibility of an outdoor shoot?
YES! Please contact us so that we can make you a suitable offer.
Is the production of videos also part of your repertoire?
YES! Please contact us so that we can make you a suitable offer.
Do you also accompany weddings, christenings etc.?

We need several recordings of our employees. Is that possible?
YES! There are various options here. Either we come to your company for a day or you send your employees to our studio. The latter has proven to be particularly effective, as the time can be planned individually for the employee. Do not hesitate to contact us contactn to clarify all the details.
What are the backgrounds?
We have white and black as standard for walk-ins. If you have a specific wish or an exact idea, please contact us in advance. Contact to . At Chaluk, we follow the motto “Nothing is impossible.”.
Can I come by for a shoot 10 minutes before the end of opening hours?
NO! The last possibility for a Walk-In S or M is half an hour before the end of opening hours. For a Large package, one hour before the photo studio closes.
Can I use the images commercially?
NO! Commercial use of the walk-in packages is not permitted. However, if you are interested in processing, please clarify this with us in advance.
Can I also pay with an ATM?
YES! We also have the option of debit or credit card payment on site.
Iris photography
Do you photograph only one eye or both?
We always take a photo of your left eye to create your personal iris photo. If you would rather have your right eye photographed, please let us know in advance. It is also no problem to have both eyes photographed. However, we will charge an additional fee for this.
Is it possible to photograph the iris of my four-legged friend?
YES! However, we need your help here so that your faithful companion sits still and we can photograph the iris perfectly.
Is it possible to photograph my child's iris?
YES! If your little ones are under four years old, we need the help of their parents. Especially with newborns and babies up to the age of two, this is also technically a little more difficult. Please note, however, that the color of newborns can still change.
Is there an upper limit to the number of irides in collages?
NO! You can tell us your wishes here. For example, if you would like to create a unique piece for the whole family and there are more than 11 of you, this is not a problem. The number of irises is up to you.
Are contact lenses a problem?
NO! Of course, it is better to remove them before the shoot. However, if this is not possible, we can also produce it with the contact lens.
Is every eye suitable for the shoot?
YES! The more colorful the better. Dark and especially deep brown eyes do not have the same effect as blue, green or multi-colored irises.
Is there also the possibility of home visits?
YES! The best thing to do is to contact us personally. Be it in your own four walls or in homes, hospices … we are happy to help you photograph the iris as comfortably as possible.
Are the irides stored?
YES! As part of our service, we save the irises so that you can have small photo gifts made at any time or, if the family grows, you can continue to work on your iris family tree.
Hand photography
Do you only photograph one hand or both?
We always take a photo of your right hand and use it to create your personal hand photo. If you would rather have your left hand photographed, please let us know in advance. It is also no problem to have both eyes photographed. However, there will be an additional charge for this.
Can I also take a photo of my four-legged friend's paw?
YES! However, we need your help here so that your faithful companion sits still and we can photograph the paw perfectly. Please make sure that the paw is free of long hair.
Can my child's hand be photographed?
YES! We generally need the parents’ help. Especially with newborns and babies up to the age of two, this is also a little more difficult technically. We can manage that.
Is there an upper limit of hands/paws for collages?
NO! You can tell us your wishes here. For example, if you would like to create a unique piece from the whole family and there are more than 11 of you, this is no problem. The number of hands is up to you.
Is there anything special I need to consider before the handshoot?
YES! Rings, watches and all jewelry must be removed for photography. Please do not apply cream to your hands just before the shoot.
Are tattoos a problem?
NO! Tattoos are not a problem.
Is there also the possibility of home visits?
YES! The best thing to do is to contact us personally. Be it in your own four walls or in homes, hospices … we are happy to help you photograph the hand as comfortably as possible.
Do you save the handprints?
YES! We store the handprints – as well as the irises. To prevent misuse and to ensure your security, the fingerprints are minimally modified.
Which photo products are best suited for this type of photography?
This type of photography is particularly suitable for canvas prints and photo gifts of all kinds.

What if the shirt doesn't fit?
As this is a personalized product, a return is unfortunately not possible.
Payment on collection or in advance?
As these are personalized products, advance payment is required for premium prints and custom designs for T-shirts, cushions, phone cases, etc.
Is every picture suitable for a T-shirt or cushion?
After a brief check of the file, we can give you feedback. Basically, however, we try to get the best out of every photo. Please note, however, that the resolution must be suitable. Images sent via WhatsApp are not possible.
Can I also print out pictures I have brought with me?
YES! Of course, you can also have your own pictures processed as a premium print. Please note that the resolution and quality must be suitable for an optimal print.
How does it work with the photo calendar?
Of course, you can also add your own pictures to the individual months and combine them with those from the shoot. If you want to use two or three pictures from the photo session, this is possible at no extra cost. The images included in the packages are not for use in the photo calendar.
What exactly is the difference between the Premium Prints?
The finish makes all the difference! A normal “matt photo print” is comparable to a photo print – but of a higher quality. “Alu-Dibond” is a photo print on an aluminum plate. The finish of the “Gallery-Print” is an aluminum plate with a real photo print and an acrylic plate on top. This gives the whole work an enormous depth of color and creates a real eye-catcher. A “passe-partout frame” is the classic way of framing a picture. There are many more possibilities. The best thing to do is to come by and let us advise you in our studio.
